You wake up on the floor, turning over flips the blanket off your shoulder and you find your elbow rubbing against the rough carpet fibers.
You lay now on your stomach, using your righ arm as a pillow. A familiar warmness is very near you to the left. You peek your eyes open, and from a nightlight in the other room you see the shape of your girlfriend Vanessa's face near you, fast asleep. She's hogging the one long pillow from the couch, but you don't want to wake her to take something away. So you try to be comfortable on your arm.
The nightlight is the only good source of light now, so you doze back to sleep after adjusting the blanket over the two of you. Warmer again, you're very comfortable.
An indefinite amount of time later.
You're still warm with the blanket pulled tightly over you, but the air is umcomfortable with the blanket over your head.
You try to stay comfortable below it, but the air there gets to you.
You try to pull your way out carefully, and your rub one of your hands against something smooth and warm. Vanessa's naked back, you think, and try not to touch again and wake her up.
You wiggle your way out from under the blanket, feet first, and look down at the lighter blanket against the dark carpet, pinned down by two in-between-colored objects.
The recliner and couch? you wonder. It's still somewhat dark, a square of light blue haze, a window, lets you know that it's early in the daylight hours of the day.
You stretch slightly, rubbing your eyes, and think again. Not quite high enough off the ground to be the couch. Well, then, what the...?
You reach down and feel one of them. It's warm. Like Vanessa was under the blanket. Uh... or...
Vanessa sighs in her sleep. Very loudly. Louder than you've ever heard her do it before. This is probably bothering her, whatever it is, so you don't touch it again.
You head down the hallway to go to the bathroom. You stop in the kitchen to glance at a clock. 5:38 AM. You head back to the livingroom floor.
Again your hear Vanessa sigh, and hear her make a stretching, yawning, moan with her mouth.
Then you step backward quietly and slowly as you see those two things pinning down the blanket lift up off the ground and blanket. They swithch spots, and they seem to be connected to something even bigger a few feet further towards the door. Something making some animal-like noises.
You continue quietly creeping backward until you've pinned yourself against the wall, not wanting to frighten whatever it is... since if this is a nightmare, it will attack you now.
And it will probably do that anyway, soon enough! You think you oughta...
"Hey baby?" a big voice says.
You freeze even more.
"Baby?" Vanessa says, very loudly. "Bay---beee?"
You open your mouth...
The big shapes... shape... moves upward. It's bigger than you thought, and somewhere under or beside it is your girlfriend... potentially smaller and more frail than before... she shrunk last night! She...
...You make out the shape of an arm scrathcing a head as you realize that this giant figure is not a monster, but your girlfriend.
It yawns, and you flip a light on.
There she lays... naked, humongous. She must be fifteen to twenty feet long. Heaven forbid she stand up. She'd...
She scoffs, and utters loudly, "Turn it back off honey..."
"VANESSA!!" you utter at her.
