“You look kinda cool, dude…” Allen chuckled, as he held Peter with his fingers. Peter was now as thin as a page from the daily newspaper, and he was about as big, too. He was like a sheet of poster-board now.
“Yeah… This is kinda cool….” Peter laughed. He was thoroughly enjoying the transformation.
“Well, since you like basketball so much, I guess we could cross the street and head for the park, huh?” Allen laughed.
Then, Allen took a deep breath, and he held Peter up above his head. Then, he let go and immediately started blowing air. He laughed as he watched Peter’s paper-thin body float around in the open air, thanks to his breath.
“Hey! You’re blowing me around like a leaf!” Peter said, as he floated from side to side, like a leaf, slowly descending to the ground. Allen made it a sport to run after him, and to try to remain just slightly ahead of the Peter-paper, so he could continue to blow peter further in the air.
“Awww… that tickles!” Peter giggled, as he felt Allen’s breath as it hit him like a powerful gust of wind. Since Peter weighed less than an ounce, he quickly ascended in the air, before slowly coming down again.
“Enjoy it, paper-boy!” Allen grinned. “I’m gonna blow you into the park…”
After a few moments, they finally reached the basketball court. Allen reached out and plucked Peter out of the air, just before the paper-thin teenager would gently land on the hard court.
“There… Now, in order to play a little basketball, you need a ball…” Allen chuckled, as he stared at Peter. Allen just loved to play around with Peter. It was his best friend, and Peter was by far the best man on the high school’s swim team, where Allen coached. Peter always won every race, thanks to Allen, who would inflate his muscles and pump him up with all the strength that he would need in order to win just about any race. Swimming competitions were over for now, so Allen just used his powers to change Peter all the time.
“Well, I guess you’re the only one who can change around here, and I can only change you and nobody else, so here goes!” Allen announced, as he concentrated his awesome power on Peter, who was helplessly staring at him, while he was still in the form of a thin sheet of paper.
Suddenly, the paper started to transform into a sheet of leather. The smooth texture of the paper became rough, as little dots and holes formed over the surface of the thin sheet of fresh, new leather. Next, the sheet began to change color, and the pinkish sheet now resembled the light, bright orange color, with the black lines which ran across the surface of the ball.
Next, the paper began to curl, as the four corners of the page began to fold over to the same side, curving the paper to the point where it appeared to fold in half. The four tips of the corners then merged together, forming something that resembled a cylinder. Then, the outer edges of the cylinder folded together, joining at the edges, followed by a slight transformation, which caused all the gaps to be filled with leather and for the cylinder to take on the shape of a perfect, round sphere. Peter had transformed into a basketball!
Allen just grinned as he felt the ball in his hands. He absolutely loved having his mighty powers over this guy, who was his best friend. He treasured the ability to change him, and he knew that the only way for him to keep his powers would be to continually change peter all the time. If he had run out of things to change peter into, then he just inflated his muscles, so there was always something for him to try out, using his powers.
When Allen spun the Peter-ball on the tip of the finger, he heard Peter’s voice.
“Whoaoaoao… You’re making me dizzy!!” Peter protested, as he helplessly felt his best friend, spinning his body around on the tip of his finger.
Allen had heard his protests, so he stopped and grabbed hold of the ball. Then, he wished for Peter’s face to be visible on the ball, but the ball would still be completely rounded so that it would dribble and so that it bounces like an original basketball.
Allen saw Peter’s eyes, nose and mouth form on the leather surface of the orange-and-black basketball.
“Well, here ya go… You’re an official NBA-approved basketball… So I’m gonna put you to use right now!” Allen announced. “I need to practice my shots, and you just make a perfect basketball, Peter!”
Allen just loved seeing the expression of complete helplessness on Peter’s face, although he knew for sure that peter was also enjoying it. Allen could sense his thoughts and feelings, so he knew when to stop, and when to change him some more.
Then, Allen dribbled the Peter-ball on the court a few times, before he raised up his right hand, with his palm of his hand facing up, and the ball resting on the fingers. He then made a basket by launching the Peter-ball in the air, allowing it to soar towards and through the metallic rim of the fiberglass basketball board. Peter rolled through the hoop at a high arc, spinning in mid-air, thanks to the backspin, which Allen had placed on his special ball. The Peter-basketball traveled through the hoop without touching the rim, and it came down on to the hard-court floor, and bounced a few times, before it finally rolled to a stop on the edge of the court.
Allen walked over to the edge of the court and he picked up the ball, dribbling it a few times, before he grabbed hold of it with both of his hands. He held the ball in such a way, that Peter’s eyes were looking straight at him.
“So, champ… How does it feel, being a basketball for a change?” Allen chuckled.
“Oh it feels really… bouncy! I feel like I’m full of air!” Peter replied.
Allen grinned, as he stared at the ball, which was his best friend. He was about to make another shot, when he saw someone approaching the basketball court.
