14 year old Todd walked his dog in the local park. It wasn't his turn to do so, but his 18 year old sister, Julia, pushed him into it, and it wasn't the first time she'd done so. While Todd was fond of his dog, he didn't think it was far for him to have to walk him all the time.
Once his dog, Rex, had completed his business, Todd made the most of things and played fetch with Rex. Todd threw sticks he found lying around, but stopped when Rex brought back a really strong, smooth foot-long stick.
Todd didn't know what it was about the stick, but he felt strangely empowered just by holding it. He was nearly in a trance when Rex pawed impatiently, snapping him out of it. Todd grabbed another stick and threw it.
Rex quickly retrieved the stick and wanted to play more, but Todd was no longer interested.

Todd pointed at Rex with the stick in place of his finger, and said "Sit!" To Todd's amazement, Rex actually obeyed him.
Todd blinked and looked at the stick. He then pointed it at Rex and told him to roll over. Rex rolled over immediately. Without saying anything, Todd willed Rex to sit up and bark, and Rex did so.
Todd pointed the wand away and told Rex to roll over again, and nothing happened. He then whipped the stick back towards Rex and commanded again, and Rex obeyed. Todd told Rex to obey all his commands, pointed the stick away, and told Rex to bark.
Not only did Rex bark, but Todd heard what sounded like a woman trying to bark. He looked to where the stick had been pointing, and an attractive brunette in a jogging suit had apparently been the source. She was holding her hand in front of her mouth as though she had just hiccuped.
Todd whispered "bark" while still pointing at the woman, and she made a little squeak nose that, again, she seemed to dismiss as a hiccup. Todd willed her to roll over. She got on all fours, and did just that. She stayed on the ground on all fours for a second after that, and sat up with a confused look as her poodle barked at her.
Todd couldn't believe what he was seeing, and was eager to try more...
