Joe stood in the street outside, too large to enter. People gawked and pointed, and a few screamed and ran when they saw him.
Ty watched invisibly from the roof of a nearby building, grinning as he formulated a plan to grant Joe his wish. Concentrating a moment, he scanned the sky and made out a small speck that was approaching rapidly.
In a few minutes, the townspeople had something new to scream about. A glistening bronze dragon circled the main square, and then landed suddenly close to a very startled Joe. The new monster roared and hissed at him, and then switched to thundering, yet feminine, words.
"Why do you refuse to speak our tongue, seed-bearer? Do you intentionally insult me?" Her eyes flickered with red light, and she gave off an aura of menace.
Joe backed away as best he could, flustered. "I am sorry! I meant no offense! I don't speak dragon."
"Don't speak dragon?" Now it was the female's turn to be flustered. "That is impossible! You must be at least a few hundred years old to be that size. How could you not have learned your own language?"
"I'm only 15!" Joe would have been red-faced if dragons could blush. "I just became a dragon today!"
There was a stunned silence, and then the female approached him, looking him over carefully. "A new seed-bearer? The wrong color, perhaps, but that is easily remedied. However, it will not do to have a dragon so ignorant in the ways of his own kind. You must be raised properly, taught the ways of dragons." She wrapped herself sensuously around him, rubbing her head and neck against his. Joe felt hot and tingling all over, his mind clouded by her scent and her touch. The female whispered into his ear, "I am Slithorin, and I desire you. Will you accept me and my desire?"
