The spider had finally finished her web. She had been working on it all night and now she could finally reap the benefits. She sat tucked away up in the corner patiently waiting for an unsuspecting victim. Soon a scavenger ant slowly crept around the corner and made its way across the floor zigzagging toward the web. The spider had all eight of her eyes trained upon its victim to be, hoping that she might finally be able satisfy her aching hunger. Sure enough the witless ant came closer and closer to the young black widow's web. As approached the web it seemed to begin to sense something. Perhaps the and had caught a glimpse of the gossamer construction before it, perhaps it had felt a stray strand of webbing glaze against an antennae, but most likely of all it could simply sense the pure menace directed toward it by the black hunter nearby.
It tried to scurry away, but the dark madame was not going to give up on her hard earned meal that easily and she quickly gave chase. She quickly gained ground on the hapless ant and she could practically taste it's blood. She raised her fangs to administer the single deadly blow and
"THUMP!!!"
"Ewww... gross! Stupid @%*!'n spider!!!" yelled Jennifer as she wiped the spider guts off her heel with a nearby towel. "That's just great! First that prick Kyle calls me and tells me some crazy story and now this! I'm never gonna get to the bus on time! Now where is my #%$@'n top!"
The ant had gotten away for now, able to continue it's existence for a little while longer, unaware that a much greater threat was about to emerge...
