Jessica had been having a terrible day. She had just found out that she was unsuccessful at getting another job, which she needed so she could help her mother pay her mortgage. She'd also chickened out asking a guy she liked to have a drink sometime. She'd also almost been run over by a bus, and shortchanged by a taxi, and almost beaten up by a homeless man. She was distraught and in tears. She was completely fed up.
"Are you ok?" asked Drake.
"No. I'm not," said Jessica.
"Things will get better," said Drake.
"I wish that were true," Jessica half-smiled at him.
He nodded and walked off.
At that point he was asking Beldazarr what it was that was wrong with her, and as soon as he heard all about her day, he made his first selfless wish.
"Beldazaar, I wish that Jessica's mother would come second in the lottery. I don't want her to be super rich, just have enough to buy their house. I also wish that Jessica would become much more confident, able to react exactly how she wants around people. Exactly how she's daydreamed. I also wish that she gets a degree more luck in the world. No more short changing by taxis and almost hit by busses, more, really friendly taxi drivers that undercharge and bumping into celebreties, stuff like that. And for good measure, give her...ten wishes for free."
"It is done, master!" clapped Beldazaar.
Drake walked off, feeling he'd done good.
