"All this whining is really getting on my nerves, Alyssa," I told her, my voice ice cold.
"But Joe, you have to understand..I'm freaking out here! That thing almost bit me, and who knows what would have happened then!"
"Plus, Alyssa dear, you know too much. Once my plan goes into effect, people are going to wonder about me. No need for that, dear. No need for them to know where my power lies," I told her, working over in my mind what I would need to wish for.
A dark energy seemed to be pusating down my ring finger into the rest of my body. The urge to wish more was growing stronger. I knew I shouldn't be acting this way, but I didn't care...I had to wish again.
"Joe, what's wrong with you?" Alyssa asked. Ah yes, sweet Alyssa, whose life I'd warped so extremely today. Alyssa who knew my power, and the secret to it, because I'd been so stupid as to tell her.
"Nothing's wrong with me..it's what's wrong with you," I said almost robotically.
"What are you talking about, Joe?" Alyssa asked, sounding frightened, and rightfully so.
"I wish you would cease to exist," I whispered. With a popping sound, Alyssa disappeared, right before my eyes. No great big scream, no dying monologue. She was just there one second and gone the next. A feeling of relief washed over me, and I smiled broadly, not caring that the pulsating energy from my ring seemed to have grown stronger. That had to be my imagination.
But even if it wasn't, I'd tied up a loose end. Only the ring and I knew all of what I'd done today, noone else. Not even Christina. She'd had her whole mind and memories reprogrammed on a whim of mine, and now thought nothing at all of being a werewolf; she'd been one as long as she could remember.
But it was beginning to get dark; I could use her tonight, so I had to go make up with her. I wondered if she was still upset with me from the events of a short while ago with Alyssa.
