They entered the store and Amy walked up to the old man she had seen two days earlier. It looked as if he hadn't moved at all since then. He was quietly snoozing away at the front desk.
"Excuse me?" Amy asked loudly. The man snorted and lifted his head with a jerk. "Sorry to bother you, but can you help me?"
The old man's lazy eyes scanned Amy's cow-like body from horns to hooves. "Ah, the magic rune chair. Haven't seen someone who's used that in a very long time. Satisfied or unsatisfied?"
"Satisfied, very," Amy said sheepishly. "But I'd like to get the circle removed before I change all the way into a cow."
"Smart girl," the old man said, now flipping through his large and dusty book. "Most people wait until there's no turning back before they think of getting it removed. I've got the spell right here. Would you like it performed right now?"
"Well, actually," Amy said, thinking. Would her next transformation be anything she'd want? Or would she end up with fingerless hooves, as Lina feared?
