A million ideas crossed Amy's mind. She could be anything...or anyone...she wanted. After what seemed like a million years of wrestling with the prospects, reason prevailed. She decided to go with something minor that she'd always wanted, but wouldn't stick out as incredibly unusual.
"I've never had much luck with growing my hair out," Amy explained. "As you can see, it's never been past my shoulder blades. Do you think you could help it out?"
The man smiled through his brown beard. "I think I've got something for that," he said. "But I'll need an object to enchant, for control purposes. I don't want to just set your hair on overdrive and let you go like that."
Amy held up her wrist, which had a silver bracelet her mother bought her for her birthday. "Perfect," he said. He flipped through his spellbook until he reached the desired page. Then he had Amy take off the bracelet and give it to him. He waved a hand over it, muttering something that sounded like "Demas, demas troya homnivas!" The bracelet glowed for an instant, then returned to normal. Amy took it back and slipped it back on her wrist.
"Now, the wearer of that bracelet will find their hair will grow one inch every hour. What's more, I added a special bonus spell. It isn't much, but it ought to make a noticeable difference when it counts."
"Thank you so much," Amy said. She fished around her pockets for some money, then handed him two fives. He returned one of them.
"I'll give you a discount as long as you enjoy your precious gift."
"Thank you! I will!" Amy was gleefully skipping farther into the store in search of Lina so they could go home.
