Rachel eyed the bottle suspiciously. "What is this, a perfume sample?" She sniffed the potion once again, enjoying the flowery fragrance. Then she smelled something else.
She broke into a run for the kitchen when she realized her pancakes were burning on the stove. She was going so fast that, as she entered the room, her socks slipped on the tile floor and she fell on her butt. The bottle went flying, tipping upside-down in mid-air and landing on her.
"Eeeyuck!" she shouted. She grabbed the now-empty bottle and put it on the counter. She could feel the liquid coming through her clothes and onto her skin, but she didn't have time to deal with it. She turned off the stove and dumped the charred pancakes into the trash. As she cleaned off the griddle, she made up her mind to take a shower. That was next in her morning routine, anyway, and she didn't want to smell like lilacs all day.
"So much for the perfume sample," she shrugged as she threw the bottle into the garbage on top of the pancakes. "I hope I didn't ruin my..." She paused mid-sentence as she examined her shirt and found no stain of any kind. She lifted it up and felt the skin on her stomach, but that also seemed try. Where did the potion go?
Regardless, she decided to proceed with the shower. Up in the bathroom, she stripped off her clothes as the water warmed up and steam began to gather on the ceiling. She carefully stepped into the shower.
