Mary admired her perfectly round tummy in her full-length mirror for some time. The pert flesh felt wonderful as she rubbed it.
Soon more thoughts entered her mind. First of all, there didn't seem to be a vial to deal with this unexpected side-effect, which meant that she would have to deal with her ballooning belly until it wore off...if that was even a possibility.
She knew there was only one thing to do: Get new clothes. She threw on the largest tee-shirt she could find. It still rode up her belly quite a bit. She chuckled at how silly it looked. Then she donned some pants, hoisting up the waist and belting it as tight as she could manage. It caused her belly to perk up, which delighted her even more.
Mary didn't care how silly she looked with her ridiculous protruding belly. The act of performing ordinary tasks while dealing with her new feature was fascinating. She had to put her seat back much farther to drive her car, after her belly--expansive as it was--honked the car horn, startling her.
Later, at the department store, she picked out a few robes and some large shirts for expecting mothers. As long as she looked pregnant, she figured she might as well wear what all the normal pregnant women do.
"Boy or girl?" the woman at the counter asked.
"Uh...oh," Mary smiled. She had wished in the back of her mind that nobody would take any notice of her belly, but it was foolish to expect to be completely ignored. "I...I don't know. My husband and I want it to be a surprise."
The woman gave her a funny look. She was probably wondering why Mary hadn't gone and bought fitting clothes months ago. Mary didn't say anything. After the purchase was finished, she carried her bags out of the store. She walked through the mall it was attached to as she returned to her car.
