Derek and Sonya looked around at all of the aisles filled with items ranging from normal to incredibly bizarre.
"What kind of place is this?" Sonya wondered. Derek shook his head. Together, they walked down one of the aisles. The items were marked on the shelves by descriptions as well as prices. There seemed to be spell-casting stones, enchanted jewelry and cursed gems. Along the opposite wall were statues and pose-able figures of all kinds of shapes, sizes and species.
A man came around the corner holding a basket and began placing a few more objects on an empty shelf. He looked in his thirties, with long shaggy hair and a worn Gery suit topped by a black cape. Derek noticed he wore a gold name tag on his lapel.
"Excuse me," Derek approached the man. "What kind of store is this?"
"The CYOC Store," the man explained with a patronizing but welcoming grin on his face, "Offers the most expansive collection of magical items known to exist. We specialize in objects that transform subjects physically."
Derek swallowed hard, not believing what he was hearing. Sonya put down a figurine of a lion she had been inspecting and turned to the man. "Transform?"
"Physically," the man finished. "And unlike your run-of-the-mil 'magic shops,' we let the buyer know up front exactly what they are purchasing. You won't be short-changed or ill-informed. We pride ourselves on our trusting customer base."
"You can't be serious," Derek said. "Magic isn't real."
"Ah, a bit of a skeptic," the man said, winking at Sonya. "Are either of you looking for anything in particular? Or, should I say, looking to be anything in particular?"
Derek continued to stare at the man as if he had actually teleported right in front of him. Sonya picked up the slack and said "Not yet, thanks. We're going to just look around for a minute."
"Very well," the man said jovially as he finished stocking the rack. "Please call my name if you have any questions." He pointed to his name tag, which read "Vincent, Manager." "And do be careful not to touch anything. We'd hate to lose a potential customer." He turned and disappeared into another aisle.
Sonya and Derek looked at each other.
"This is serious," Derek said, looking for confirmation.
"I think so," Sonya said to him. "I mean, you and I have been shopping in this part of town forever, and we never even noticed a building here before today. They couldn't have possibly put all this up in so little time. Besides, who wears a cape to work?"
Derek chuckled, but inside his mind was racing. If this was true, everything he and Sonya had ever dreamed was possible. One look at Sonya told him she understood the same thing. "Then let's do something."
Sonya glanced around at the strange objects again. "Like what?"
"Like.. changing you, for example!" said Derek, bringing a magic wand and pointing it versus his girlfriend. A flash hitted the girl, who begins to say "wha.." just before freezing in a curious position, like protecting her breast.
In fact her chest expanded, gaining muscular mass under her shirt, and, as Derek can see, her cleavage (and entire chest of course) was covered by thick curly hair..
