You shift nervously from one foot to the other as Themis and Ixion continue to chant in a language unknown to you. Rachel squeezes your hand tighter and tighter as they continue. She breathes in short gasps that demonstrate her excitement at what is to come.
“Calm down,” you whisper to her as you wrap your arm over her shoulder, and she melts in your comforting embrace. Both of you have your eyes fixed on Marina as she standing in the circle. Her hands clinch into fists and then relax over and over again as her anticipation rises with yours.
Finally, Themis and Ixion finish and close the ancient looking tome that they have been reading from. Themis approaches the circle and looks down at Marina. Her demeanor is serious, but there is a love and concern that shows through her eyes.
“Marina, child, we would welcome you to our fold and gladly offer you an eternity as an honored member of our haras, but you must first express your willingness to join us. Is that what you desire? Will you become a centauress?”
Marina swallows hard and looks to Rachel for a moment. Rachel purses her lips and nods to her friend.
“Yes,” Marina says proudly, “I want to be a centauress.”
“So you shall, my child,” Thesis replies, “so you shall.”
At that moment, a nimbus of sparkling light envelops Marina. The tiny lights begin to circle around her. Then, after they have gained some speed, they begin to pass through her.
Marina gasps and pulls her hand to her mouth and her eyes grow wide as the magick enters her. Slowly the tips of the horns on her head recede and her ears regain a human form. A brighter band of light begins to develop around her head and spins lower and lower. As it passes her waist, the goat fur recedes and she is left with naked human flesh. You avert your eyes for a moment as Marina’s human looking private regions appear again. The light surrounds her legs and, upon reaching her feet, Marina once again has toes she can wiggle.
“What’s happening?” she asks.
“The magick must purify you first, make you a true halfling before it can complete you,” Ixion calls out.
Marina nods in understanding.
Then the band of energy begins to spin upward, but no changes are made along its course. It circles Marina’s head for another few moments as if it is gathering strength for what is to come. Finally, the band collects itself into a ball that holds for a moment in front of Marina’s face.
“The time of your change is upon you, child,” Themis says, “Blessings to you.”
At that moment, the ball of energy shoots at Marina and plunges into her chest. She sighs with delight and a look of utter contentment passes over her face. Then her entire body glows with the magical energy and she stands stiffly as every muscle in her body tenses for a moment.
Rachel tugs you on the arm and shouts, “Look!” as she point to Marina’s waist again. Around her hips, her skin begins to darken and short, smooth hairs begin to grow. They are a soft brown like café au late. She smiles broadly as she reaches a hand down to smooth out her coat. The coloring spreads over her hips and down her thighs. When it reaches her mid-calf area, it lightens until it is a pure white. As the fur reaches her feet, Marina shifts forward. Her leg bones thin into spindly shapes as the bone within reshape and reform. Finally, she stands, taller you think, on a pair of hooves that support what appear to be a horses front legs.
Marina doesn’t have the time to appreciate the changes in her legs. She snaps her head back and looks at her behind. A white tail that matches the color of her fore hooves is slowly erupting from above her buttocks. In a matter of moments, it has reached the floor. Marina swishes it about happily.
“I have a tail!” she exclaims.
You wonder how the rest of her body will from as her tail begins to move away from her and her lower body grows still further as she reaches a height equal to Themis and Ixion. Before her longer backside can make her fall over, another pair legs grow from her body. These two have a brown color that matches her front legs and are capped by pure white at the bottom. Her body between the legs rapidly expands and Marina is complete. Your friend’s upper body and head are now supported by a horse’s body, one with the markings of a palomino. Finally the hair on her head grows longer as well, and her blonde locks fade into a brilliant white that matches her tail.
“Oh, this is incredible!” Marina exclaims. She takes a few tentative steps forward. It is clear she is getting used to for legs rather than two. She manages to trot ahead and embrace Themis in a loving hug.
Themis returns the hug and then moves to a closet nearby. She returns with a white bikini top. "You may find this more comfortable now," she says.
"Thank you," Marina says. She takes a moment to look down at her body. "For everything."
