Jared started to say something to the effect that he must be
dreaming. Instead, he let out a loud "Woof!"
A rather convincing woof. This wasn't a dream. He was really a
dog.
How?
The strange metal medallion must be the cause. He began to
search for the object.
But, suddenly, his ears pricked up when he heard a hand turn
the knob to the door to his room.
The door opened and Jared's kid brother Kevin walked into the
room. Kevin was only 12.
"Hey, boy! Where did ya come from?" Kevin said at finding the
large dog in his brother's room. He then called out Jared's
name.
"It's me! Kev, I'm the dog!" Jared tried to explain.
Kevin listened, intrigued by the dog's sudden chorus of barks.
"What ya trying to tell me boy?"
Suddenly, Kevin placed his hand on top of Jared's head and
began to scratch him behind the ears.
"Damn! That feels good!" Jared realized in surprise.
Suddenly, the wonderful sensation stopped. "What's that?" Kevin
asked.
Kevin crossed the room and picked up the medallion.
Jared looked at the medallion in his brother's hands. He lunged
for the object, but Kevin whisked the medallion up out of his
reach.
"Bad dog!" Kevin scolded.
Jared was shocked to find his spirits dropping and his tail slunk
between his rear legs in reaction to the reprimand.
Kevin walked across the room toward the clothes Jared had
discarded on the floor during his transformation.
