Struggling to get her large, overinflated fingers on the phone, Carrie finally plucks it up and calls for room service to bring someone up to reinflate her husband.
She stands impatiently, since she's too large to sit at the moment, her husband's limp form dangling between her legs as she waits for the service to come. And this thing, whatever it is inside her is starting to concern her. Especially if it is what she thinks it is.
Finally, a gawkishly thin old man similar to the vendor from the street opens the door. He's got a large toolbox and printed on his shirt is "Balloonigan Specialist".
"Got another one a' these, eh?" He says, kneeling down in front of Carrie to examine John. With a sharp swift tug, he plucks him out, prompting a sharp gasp from Carrie.
"Will he be alright?" she asks, looking over him with concern as the old man lays John out flat and opens his toolbox.
"He'll be fine. Right as rain in another moment or two," he pulls a small device with a hose out and sticks the hose end into John's mouth. He flips a switch and air begins to slowly pump into his body. "You balloonigans are indestructible and very stretchy. It'll take more'n a deflation to put one a' you out. Though you two might wanna finish what you started."
"I beg your pardon?" Carrie asks, slightly offended. "What happens between me and my husband is our own business, thank you very much."
"Suit yerself," he says. "All's I'm sayin' is that baby o' yours needs a few more pumps of air to develop to birthing status. And he's the only thing that can pump more air into it, ya know?"
"BABY?!" Carrie asks in shock. She looks down at her translucent stomach, and sure enough, the thing that's resting inside it looks to be a fetus.
"Well, yeah. Balloonigans got a gestation period of usually immediately after copulation. Your husband here didn't have enough air to make it though, it seems." He pats John on the belly, who is slowly becoming conscious. "We should prob'ly get you two relocated to finish things up, though. Ain't much room left here."
