As Mark and Alex regressed into children and ran off. The maiden walks slowly out of the room with a sullen look on her face. She walked down the hall in the direction of two arguing voices.
20 hours remaining
"Look how do you explain the situation we are in if there isn't something supernatural going on!" Sam yells as they walk into a conservatory full of dead plant life.
"I call it drugged hallucination! Magic does not exist and you are a idiot in falling into that old perverts game." Eric yells back stopping in the middle of the room.
"Yes somehow we all hallucinated the exact same thing and managed to instantly find our way into a house without any signs of being dragged or anything!" Sam says
"Look if magic really does exist where has it been? How could it have stayed hidden till now if some one has known its existed! the only possible way that would be possible if everyone who witnessed it... died..." Eric says stumbling over those last few words.
"Where are we..." Sam asks looking around at the very dead room
"Looks like a room full of dead plants..." Eric says
"No shit... I don't like the feeling this room gives me lets go" Sam says moving to the door. "Its locked" He says giggling the handle.
"Lets just go around- AHH" Sam screams turning around seeing a young women all in black looking at them.
"Three guesses its the maiden..." Sam whispers
"I'm going to prove to you once and for all magic does not exist" Eric says suddenly jumping forward to clobber the young women.
"Eric wait!" Sam says just as the maiden raises a single finger and points it at Eric who immediately stops in his tracks.
"Let me go! How are you doing that!" Eric says straining against the air.
"Magic... now sit boy!" the maiden says pointing to the ground suddenly Eric collapsed on all fours and could not manage to get back to his feet.
"Good, now as my job requires you have to answer this riddle in order to proceed unchanged... What has four legs in the morning... two legs at noon... and three legs at night? You have sixty seconds to answer." she says then falls silent
Sam and Eric looked at each other confused. They were never much for riddles. Sam had heard this riddle before, but couldn't remember what the answer was... it had something to do with time, but what about it.
"times up!" she says
"Wait the answer is.... man!" Sam managed to stumble out
"Good job, but still too late." she says relaxing her finger allowing Eric to stand up.
"Wait thats not fair!" Eric says getting up.
"Life isn't fair sometimes... Now hurry along and no monkeying around because over the next nineteen hours thats what you will become a little more every hour on the hour." She says as she walks out of the room vanishing into the halls.
"What the hell just happened..." Sam asks
"Nothing thats what shes bluffing." Eric says brushing himself off as the chime of a clock echoes though the mansion. Sam and Eric stand completely still as they feel changes happening to their bodies. A tail had snaked its way down Sam's pant leg. While hair began to grown on Eric's hands and cheeks creating a set of bushy sideburns
and furry arms.
"Convinced now?" Sam asks Eric who was examining the new fur on his arms and face.
"Lets just get that gold before we become more monkey then man..." Eric says pushing Sam who was busy ripping a hole in his pants to let his tail though, toward the door.
