The store is completely disorganized and your pretty sure that if you were looking for something in particular you wouldn't find it. Despite this you see several things that catch your eye, some of it reminds you of your parents, others remind you of friends, and even a couple things that remind you of your girlfriend Clarissa. It's as you're thinking of her that you remember that your going out to dinner with her tonight.
The thought occurs to you that you should get something for her, since you forgot your 2 month anniversary. How were you supposed to know she'd make such a big deal about it. Really she just needs to settle down and not be so uppity with you. Your sure that if you get her something then she'll calm down and you can get back in action.
After wandering around for almost half an hour you look to a pile of rubbish. It looks like junk and your about to turn away when you notice a silver pendent on the shelf. Feeling a sense of peace and contentment at the site of it you pick it up. It feels cold to the touch but you ignore it and go up to the counter and find a young man at the register. You hadn't even realized he had arrived but he smiles and rings up your purchase. "Did you find what you were looking for?" He asks you and you shrug, not wanting to give away how much he's creeping you out. "I suppose so, though I didn't even realize I was looking for something." The cashier gives you your change and smiles again and this time it seems almost predatory, "No, but that just makes the find all the sweeter." You decide now would be the proper time to leave and you hope you don't make to big of a fool of yourself when you run out of the store.
Once you've gotten a comfortable distance from the store you pull out your purchase and take another look at the pendant. That same feeling of peace comes to you and as you watch the sunlight play off it's shiny surface you find it mesmerizing. Perhaps you should try it on. After all you bought it and if it turns out you don't like it, you can always just give it to Clarissa. Happy with the thought you lift the pendant and...
