Flashback--three days ago
Cathy couldn't believe she had won a free vacation. For the longest time she thought there must be a catch, but after reading the offer through three times she couldn't see any.
Cathy had a hard time believing in good fortune as something that happened to her. A plain girl, she had never been able to attract a steady boyfriend. Now in her fifties, men hardly even noticed her and she had a hard time making women friends as well. Her job as a retail clerk paid barely enough for the rent on her studio apartment and it was a rare day when she could afford to eat out. Her neighborhood was not great, and she was afraid to be out much after dark. She couldn't afford a car, and had to take the bus to work, and sometimes that was scary too, with the crazy and violent men she saw on it. She had been an only child, and her parents were long dead. There seemed nothing in her future, until she received the notification of winning the vacation.
She had never really thought about transformation before she saw the resort's presentation. She was surprised to feel a mighty surge of excitement when she realized what the park was about. Not to be me, I don't have to be me, she thought. I can be a big, powerful animal. I can be a beautiful animal, fearless and free. I don't have to be afraid--instead, I can make other animals afraid.
Her fingers flew through the menu. Predator/Herbivore? Predator. Cathy grinned as she thought about claws and teeth. Predator species? Bear was interesting, but Cathy decided to go with the sleek elegance of the panther. Gender? Cathy automatically went for "Female" but her finger froze a quarter of an inch above the button.
Wait a second, Cathy thought. I need to think here. Cathy had noticed--it was hard to avoid--that nearly every authority figure in her life, from the president of the United States to Bob, her supervisor at work, was male. Women, she had noticed, always had it harder. She didn't really identify with feminists, because she didn't think male domination was something that would ever really change, but she understood their anger.
Being a big, powerful, male animal was a strange, but even more appealing thought. And she couldn't be sure that the park wasn't like everywhere else in her life--maybe the male anthropomorphic animals were always lording it over the females and badgering them for sex, just as it had been when Cathy was young. Her finger moved to "Male" and jabbed down.
This is weird, Cathy thought, as her body shifted form. The gray fur itched as it came in over her body. Her body rapidly shifted into that of a powerful anthropomorphic panther. She flexed her muscles. Being so strong felt great, like she didn't have to be afraid any more.
Her breasts rapidly shrank to hard muscle as her vagina closed up and with a certain queasiness felt her internal organs to shift to those of a male anthromorph. Finally, she felt a stretching between her legs and saw something she had never, ever, expected to see there.
A penis, Cathy laughed. I have a penis. I'm a guy! He was still laughing as the door to the woods opened.
