Aaron sat in the van, wrapped in her own wings, bawling her eyes out. This was horrible! It was bad enough that she'd become a girl, but to become some freakish bird-woman? No, no no, this couldn't be happening! And yet, here she was, clearly not the Aaron she woke up as this morning, hiding from everyone. She couldn't believe it, and at the same time, she couldn't deny it. So she kept crying.
Lisa opened the door. "Are you alright?" she asked the crying harpy-girl.
Aaron sniffled and looked up at her. "Do I look alright?" she snapped. "I'm a freak! What do you think?"
Lisa frowned. "Well, excuse me for being concerned."
Aaron lowered her head. "Sorry."
Lisa sighed. "It's all right; it's not like you don't have a reason to be upset. Now, my guess is that what happened to you happened because of this." She grabbed the pendant, still hanging from Aaron's neck. "So what we need to do is go back to the magic shop and talk to the owner and see if he knows anything about this. But we can't take you in there naked. I'll be back in a bit; I'm going to try and find some clothes that we can make fit you."
Lisa left, and Aaron sat in the van, huddled on the floor, thanking her lucky stars that the windows were heavily tinted. What would happen to her? What if she couldn't change back? How could she tell her parents? How could she go on with life? How could she ever be in a relationship when she wasn't even human? A relationship? Oh god, would she like guys? She tried to think of girls and feel attracted to them, but she couldn't. She couldn't think of attractive guys either, though, so she hoped it was just the stress.
The latch popped, and Aaron looked up. Lisa had returned, holding a shopping bag. She opened the door and climbed inside the van. "Listen," she said, "you're not gonna like this, but...you're gonna have to do this if we're going to get you back to the magic shop." She fished around in the bag and pulled out a two-piece swimsuit.
"Oh no," Aaron said. "Ohhhhh no. I'm not wearing a bikini!"
Lisa shrugged. "If you're not wearing something, we won't be able to get you back inside the mall, much less to the magic shop. And this is the only clothing you'll be able to wear off the rack. Unless you want to go home and give me a few days to tailor something for you."
Aaron sighed. "I...fine. Fine, let's just get this over with."
Lisa set to work. The swimsuit bottom was tossed, as it wouldn't fit around Aaron's unusually-shaped legs, and her personal regions were covered by down anyway. Aaron squirmed uncomfortably as the top was fitted around her new breasts, producing all sorts of sensations she was completely unused to dealing with. Lisa slipped the top strap around Aaron's neck, but the bottom strap had to be stretched down below the base of her wings before it could be fastened. The result was rather uncomfortably tight, but she was technically clothed now.
"All right," Lisa said. "We're going in. Walk, don't run; if you run you'll draw more attention to yourself. People are going to stare at you for a lot of reasons; just ignore them. If anyone asks, your name is Erin and you went to a costume party and got stuck in your costume, and we're going to the costume shop to get a refund and some assistance. Got it?"
Aaron nodded.
"Then let's get going," Lisa said. They exited the van and began to walk back to the mall.
