After they released each other from their hug, Sonya clutched her pudgy stomach. "The curse at work. I'm feeling hungry again."
"I don't think you should eat any more," Derek said. "Maybe the point of the curse is to make you so huge you can't move around, or get a heart attack or something."
"It's not a normal hunger," Sonya said. She sounded a little more strained now, and she hunched over a little as she walked into the kitchen. Derek followed right behind her. "I don't just want food, I need food. In just a minute it's all I'll be able to think about." She began pulling random items from the fridge and piling them on the counter.
"This probably isn't the healthiest way to go about it, though. Can't I go get you something less fatty and more filling?"
"Didn't you just tell me that you didn't care what my body looked like?" she snapped. "Why can't I just eat anything I want? I don't need you ordering me around!"
Derek stared at her in disbelief. Sonya blushed, but quickly resumed opening food containers. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean it. I'm just so...I need to eat RIGHT NOW."
Derek remained quiet during Sonya's feeding frenzy. It seemed the more she ate, the faster she shoveled food into her mouth and the sloppier her eating habits became. By the time she was satisfied, the kitchen was a mess of wrappers and dishes and her hands were soaked in ten kinds of food. Derek began picking up the trash as Sonya licked her fingers clean.
"Aaah, I finally feel like myself again." Sonya began throwing dishes in the sink. "I'm sorry about this," she said as Derek put the last of the wrappers in the garbage. "I can't help myself."
Derek regarded her food-splattered shirt, which now rode all the way up her distended belly. She looked almost pregnant. "This is seriously going to cause us some problems if we don't take care of it today," Derek said.
"And every time this happens I need to eat more," Sonya remarked. She sounded very tired now. "My stomach grows along with the rest of me."
"We're going back to that shop. Right now."
Sonya groaned. Both hands absent-mindedly rubbed her satisfied stomach. "You go. I can't be seen like this. Besides," she yawned, "That feast took a lot out of me. I need to digest for a while."
"I'll be back as soon as I can," he told her. Together they walked slowly into the living room, where he helped Sonya deposit herself on the couch. Then he rushed out the door and drove off to the CYOC Store.
