"Listen, and listen well."
This voice comes out of nowhere, causing you do stumble in surprise. Who the heck...
"We are the mind of the entity that has joined with you; we have formed a telepathic bond with you so that we might extend an offer.
We are a parasitic race. However, we have no means of travel or movement without a host. Unfortunately, we also cannot control our hosts mentally and therefore must, though we regret to admit it, bargain with inferior species such as your own. The offer is simple: spread our infection to five who are uninfected by bringing them into contact with us, and we will leave your body willingly."
All of this is a bit hard to swallow. An alien parasite is attached to your foot and wants you to take part in a pyramid scheme whose eventual goal is the infection of the entire human race if you want to be rid of it? Even beyond the ridiculousness of parasitic latex that turns into cartoon animal parts, this just doesn't make sense. And besides, why would you even trust this voice? It could easily go back on its promise the minute you finished!
"You seem to have doubts about our offer. We cannot convince you of our integrity. However..." At this, the latex begins crawling up from your ankle, consuming a good two inches of your leg in pink before it stops. "Should you refuse, there will be penalties. We are capable of spreading across your body, and know that the form we have chosen for you will be incompatible with your society. If you refuse adamantly, we are capable of making the changes permanent and leaving your body to await a more willing host."
The voice has gone silent, but you know it's scanning your mind, awaiting your decision.
