Sam walked the packed roads of the park. It was amazing how all of this could be a illusion there would have to be dozens, maybe a score or two, possibly hundreds of tricksters to pull this off, and it might take weeks to take them out.
From his last encounter with a trickster he knew three things about them; they liked sugar, they liked to play with their prey, and they could only die by a stake though the heart. As Sam turned the corner a store caught his eye "Carl's sugar products and camping supplies 'wooden steaks 50% off!'". Sam let out a sigh, 'well that answered the question if I'm being watched...' he thought.
Sam spent the next few hours darting though always and covering his tracks till he felt that he knew that he was no longer being followed. Carefully he sneaked outside the confines of the town. Finding a tree that looked adequate enough he broke off a branch and hoped that it would be able to piece the skin. Now all that he would need to do was get some candy. With a new goal in hand Sam hid the makeshift stake and made his way to a store that had candy in it. If this was a trickster city he could reason that the candy would have to be real or the population would starve in a matter of hours.
Sam waited for the crowds to lessen before he turned the corner out of the ally and into the shop, walking his way to the back being careful not to be seen he passed several Isles of food. Sam was quickly reminded that he had had very little to eat in the past forty-eight hours and what he had ingested he didn't want to think about.
Sam didn't know if he could trust any food in this place but the rumbling in his stomach didn't want to listen he had to grab something to eat!
