Thinking about which animal would be the most fun to be, Ty suddenly realises something: why are they laughing at him for being different? Why should he have to take it, since he was the one who landed them in this situation?
"Look who's talking!" Said Ty, secretly wishing for the others to understand him. "You were human not two days ago!"
The cacophany of animal noises die down quickly, with Dustin looking at his paws uncomfortably.
"Why should you ridicule me? Because I'm a minority? Perhaps you should look at yourselves, and what the incident at the zoo cost you. Sure, you're all now part of some special click, but what have you lost?"
"You, Michael." he pointed at the seal, "How can you continue your relationship with Sarah? You're no longer compatable with each other! All of you, your choices for meaningful relationships have been selected, and many of your friends may be ostracized by this change."
The seal looks at the zebra, and barks mournfully.
"And Dustin, remember all those video games you wanted to try when they come out? Try doing that with paws that can't even grip the controller!"
Dustin looks at the rough pads of his left forepaw.
"So is it really because I'm a minority that you're picking on me, or is it because on one level or another, you miss the benefits of humanity?"
The hallway is absolutely silent. A single tear is sliding down Dustin's furry face.
