Tricia saw buttons labeled "Shrink" and "Enlarge." She pressed the Shrink button and the screen display asked her to input a value between 0 and 100 percent. She punched in "5" and pressed the big red "ACTIVATE" button. A narrow beam shot out of the remote and bounced off her mirror back to her. Suddenly she felt dizzy. Her center of balance seemed off for a moment, and she almost fell over. Just as quickly as it had started, the feeling disappeared. Things still felt strange, though. Her clothes didn't sit right on her, and the room looked...well, it just looked a little unusual.
"Did it work?" she thought. Everything certainly felt strange, but that might just be a side effect of the beam hitting her. She rummaged through some drawers until she found a tape measure, then let it out until it had reached the floor. "I don't believe it," she said when she confirmed the truth. "I really shrunk!" According to the measure, she was now about five feet. She'd lost three or four inches in an instant!
She inspected her clothes, which were fine except they shifted more than she was used to. She was wearing a tee-shirt, socks and sweatpants. The elastic waist of the sweatpants definitely wasn't as tight as it used to be and the bottom of her shirt looked a little farther down than normal.
Just for fun, she took off her shirt and pulled a long-sleeved one out of a drawer. She duly noted that her bra was still supporting her breasts, but it felt like if she shrunk any further it would start to slip. She pulled the new shirt over her and moved about a little. It definitely felt looser, and when she put her arms to the sides, the sleeves covered up a little of her hands, almost reaching her knuckles. The sleeves were normally close to skin tight, too, but that was not the case now.
"This is awesome!" Tricia exclaimed gleefully. She picked the remote up from the bed where she left it and thought about what to do next. The shrinking felt crazy, but she wanted to see what it would be like to get even smaller. "I don't want to get all dizzy, though. What's this?" Tricia noticed a timer button. Playing around with it, she realized that she could set transformations to go off periodically, or over a gradual time frame.
Soon she had the remote set to shrink her very slowly for a matter of hours. "I won't set a stop point...I'll know when it'll be enough." She pointed at her reflection once again and fired. The dizzy feeling didn't return. Everything looked the same. She used the remote to scan herself and confirmed that the transformation was in effect. Her height read 60.8 inches. She waited a few seconds and scanned herself again. 60.7. "Great," she said, satisfied. "This ought to be interesting." She then put the remote down on her bed to make some breakfast.
