"What just happened?" was the first thing uttered. It was John, or Dargan, who said it.
Looking around, the group found themselves in what looked like a waiting room. There were guards at the door to an office, looking grim, and also quite frozen. In fact, everything but themselves looked like it was the target of a full time-stop. A sort of ghost-like version of Ty appeared, hoovering in the middle of the room.
"I...have tits," Brian exclaimed.
"Welcome to my world, and don't panic. Think of it all as virtual reality. Which it is, really. As you might have noticed, you now look like your characters. If you don't try to force it otherwise, you'll also naturally act like your characters. You'll even feel like your characters, both mentally and physically. It's pretty neat. Don't worry, your bodies are safe back in the real world, no harm will come to you, even if it something bad happens in here."
"Neat? If we're in this, we'll have to live out all the time, doing all the boring stuff that we usually just gloss over!"
The ghost of Ty looked thoughtful for a moment, then answered.
"You don't think this stuff comes with a fast-forward button, John? In fact, every one of you have an individual fast-forward, which can be used at any time as long as I, as the GM, don't think the scene important for the game. And you don't even have to all agree, you can 'live' in different speeds. Time in here isn't like time in the real world. Or your perception of time, or whatever."
"Does this kind of technology even exist?" Tim asked. "I've never seen or heard anything like it, and I like to think I'm pretty well updated."
"It's magic, Tim," Ty answered matter-of-factly.
All the time Ty had been talking, Brian and Julia had been completely preoccupied with their new bodies.
"This...is really kinda cool. Like, seriusly weird, but cool."
"Yeah, you've gained some nice little breasts there, 'sis'? You're looking really sexy, actually, in a cute sort of way. And a really nice butt, too." Julia slapped it in a teasing manner.
"Hey, stop that. You're my sister...er, brother."
"We're Wild Ones, remember. You know they don't always care about those kinds of stuff." Julia continued teasing her brother.
"Seriously, Julia..."
"Hey, you two!" Ty shouted up to get their attention. "I'm about to start the game here, so you'd better get into character, and stop fondling yourself. You can do that later, when you're alone or something."
With that, Ty disappeared and time slowly started running again.
A man, whom they all knew to be Jarn, Harneths right-hand man, came out the office door.
"Harneth will see you now."
