"A wish? For real? You said first one, so there's more than one?"
"Yes. Yes, and yes! Now make a wish already. I've been bottled up in that bottle for ages, I'm positively ready to explode with magic, so your wish will help relieve all that stored up magic energy!"
"Wow. Well, I guess I wish that the guys from my school would notice me for a change. You know I get picked last for teams at sports, and then only after the coach says, don't forget about "Ginger." Even he can't remember my name," Joey says with a sigh. "I guess I'm just an average Joe, but that's probably not the sort of wish that you can--"Joey rambled on.
He was interrupted by Keira breathing heavily, and saying, "Granted! Whew that was one tough wish, but I did it. Now I need to sleep for a bit."
"You did it? Guys will notice me now?" Joey asked.
The glowing light flickered, and murmured unintelligibly as it settled on his beach bag, and went to sleep.
"Ahem," said a deep voice.
Joey looked up at Drake. The muscular guy had been quarterback of the Varsity team. He was standing there in his board shorts rocking back and forth nervously on his feet.
"Uh, Joey, right?" Drake said nervously, "I noticed you're here alone?" He looked around, and asked softly, "Would you mind if I joined you?"
"Uh, Drake? Sure, pull up a towel," Joey answered.
Drake grinned and spread his towel down right next to Joey's towel, and then he lay down next to Joey.
"Say, Joey, you're pretty fair, are you sure you've got enough sunscreen on? I'd be happy to rub you down with the sunscreen, if you'd do the favor of applying suntanning lotion to me."
"Drake, thanks I probably could do with some more sunscreen."
