Tricia was feeling rambunctious with all of the things that happened to her today. She decided to quit her job, effective immediately. She looked at the clock and saw that her boss wouldn't leave the store for another hour. She grabbed her purse and set off down the street.
She got quite a few looks from the people she passed. None of them found her cow appearance as unusual as her attire, apparently. Her bell clanged with every step she took, and her hooves clopped louder on the sidewalk than high heels. A woman walking with her ten-year-old daughter saw her skimpy outfit and studded bracelets and shot her a look of disgust. A man shortly afterward sent her a shrill whistle as he passed. Each time a person looked her way Tricia felt more and more excited about her new form.
Once at the store, she noticed that Rick was working there that afternoon. Rick, a 20-year-old college student, had grown quite close to Tricia. They had dated for a brief time, but he called it off, claiming Tricia "wasn't exciting enough." She smirked. How would he think of her now?
She decided to talk to her boss first, and then think about how to deal with Rick afterward. She entered his office after knocking and found him sitting at his desk, as usual.
"Yes, Trish?" he asked. "If this is about time off, I'm afraid I'm going to need everyone we can get for the weekend coming up--"
"Actually, I've come to tell you I won't be coming to work anymore. A...personal thing has come up. I would have told you over the phone, but I thought it'd be better to tell you in person." She managed a sympathetic tone so that hopefully her boss would overlook the short notice.
"A personal thing, huh?" He looked skeptical. "So you're quitting."
"I'm sorry. This is out of my control."
He leaned farther back in his chair and sighed heavily. "Some farm offer you better pay?"
The comment took Trish by surprise, but she quickly realized he was joking. "Yeah," she managed to chuckle. "Something like that."
"I don't mean to pry, but I'd appreciate if you could tell me exactly why you have to quit."
"It's nothing to do with the job," Trish said defensively. "I was happy you took me in. I didn't have many options at the time. But life has thrown me another curveball, and I need to deal with it."
After a moment of silence, her boss stood up. "Okay. I won't ask anything more. Will you be in for your last paycheck on Friday, or should I have it mailed to you?"
"You'd better mail it. I'll be out of town for a little while."
"Okay. You take care, Trish."
"Thanks for understanding." Trish backed out the door and grinned. She was finally out of this boring job, ready to start an exciting new life where she was in control.
And that control was going to involve Rick somehow. As she approached him, she slowly rocked her curvy hips back and forth. Before she reached his checkout station, he turned in her direction and did a double-take when he noticed her. His eyes drank in her sexy form and his lips slid higher and higher on his face.
"Well look at YOU," he said.
