Josh, the bit of him that was still the twelve-year-old boy, was seeing the world as if through a haze. Whatever it was that had seized control of his new body was strong and he was no match for it. He was a strong-willed boy to be sure, but he could not overcome these forces that had acted upon him. He just hoped he could hold on until, he was certain, Ric and Mr. Mendes would save him. In the meantime, he was experiencing things he wasn't meant to do or handle for four or five years. If he could have, he would have cried then.
Alisa, on the other hand, is being swept away in a wave of passion the likes of which she has never known. She has a fleeting thought of her boyfriend and long-term consequences, but these thoughts were shattered by her pleasure in the here-and-now. It felt soooo good to be wrapped in the embrace of his strong arms, to feel his heat, rising with her own. Their lips were pressed together in a long kiss that made her see fireworks and, if she hadn't breathed through her nose, she would have suffocated. She pressed her body against his warm, furry gut, releasing a small moan of pleasure which he echoed. His moan, however, rumbled from somewhere deep inside him, and when it passed through her, she felt her pleasure soar to greater heights.
"We have to reverse the spell!" Mr. Mendes proclaimed, the urgency in his voice unmistakable. Ric, however, seemed not to hear. His attention was still rapt to what was unfolding outside the window, his grin unwavering, and, Mendes noted, he was getting turned on.
"Why?" he asked in a man's voice that Mr. Mendes was unaccustomed to hearing. But he asked the question with the simple defiance of the child he truly was, despite the outward appearance some spell had affected on him. He was still looking out the window.
"Ric. Ric!" Mr. Mendes was entering his authoritarian role out of habit, which seemed to do the trick. Ric's grin faltered and he looked at Mr. Mendes with that classic look a child gives when they know they're in trouble. "Josh is in trouble if we don't find a way to reverse this spell. It says here that he will become stoppable only by death. He will be lost to the effects of the spell. We need to do something!"
Ric was now clearly concerned. He had never intended for anything bad to happen to his brother. He had just hoped they could have some fun. "What do we need to do?" Ric asked, the fear still evident in his masculine voice.
"That's just it, I don't know," Mendes cried while he quickly flipped through the book, hoping for a page that would help him. Nothing seemed to be coming up. In the back of his mind, he thought of all the things he had ever encountered dealing with magic: Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, a special he saw once on the history channel...then, when he was reaching the back of the book, he thought of something. What if they read the spell /backward/? In theory, the magic was cast by the reading of certain words. If those words were read backward, that might undo the magic of the spell.
"I have an idea," both Mr. Mendes and Ric stated together, and both were taken aback by the other's sudden proclamation. "You first," Mendes said, eager for anything that might be more solid than his theory.
"When I was looking through the book before, I saw a spell that makes you get younger. Maybe we can make Josh a twelve-year-old again." Ric's eyes were full of wild hope. He didn't want to lose his brother.
Mr. Mendes considered this idea. The spell Ric had cast didn't just advance Josh's age, however. It had made him into some hyper-masculine behemoth bent on procreation. But, when he thought about his own idea, he didn't think it was much better. Whereas they knew the spells of the book actually worked, it could be that reading them backward did absolutely nothing. Or worse: had even more catastrophic effects than they did when read forward.
Mr. Mendes sighed. "I think we should..."
