Marie looks around at the boardwalk watching the partially changed boys and girls eat and even start drinking again. She spots one of the food stands frying up eggs and bacon. And then another with piles of pancakes, but it doesn’t seem as appetizing as it should. She then spots a small booth that is very crowded. A gentleman is serving up platters of vegetables and wheat grass smoothies. Another crowded vendor has beers and large sugar cubes that boys and girls are going crazy for. “There, let’s get some of that,” Marie says licking her lips.
Josh and Marie make their way through the crowd and grab some of the smoothies and then handfuls of sugar cubes. Josh watches as a boy with long pointed ears feeds the sugar cubes to a girl who nearly has a complete donkey muzzle. The girl nibbles and licks the cubes out of his hand. Both Marie and Josh take long sips of their grassy drinks, getting an extreme amount of satisfaction from them. They supplement the drink with bites from the pure sugar cubes that makes them groan from sheer delight.
“I never really cared for this healthy stuff before,” Josh says shaking his smoothie, “but this is really good.” Marie just nods in agreement, her mouth currently being full. The roar of a roller coaster turns their heads up as they watch one of the cars race by with boys and girls cheering. Marie and Josh look back at each other and then smile. The both bolt to the short line leading to the ride. “This place seems less crowded, doesn’t it,” Josh asks. Marie looks around and shrugs, “didn’t really notice, anyway, that just means more fun for us.” The line quickly gets smaller and Marie and Josh board the car.
The ride races all around giving them wild and wispy views of the park. They both cheer, but then Josh suddenly has some discomfort in his stomach. Not Marie, she’s too busy cheering as the ride takes one last move. As the ride comes to a stop Josh is covered in sweat. “Are you alright,” Marie looks at him concerned. “I really don’t feel good,” Josh groans as he tries to stand.
He tumbles to the ground and Marie is quick to help him up. “What’s wrong, is it your stomach?” Marie asks. Josh just nods and then falls to his hands and knees holding his stomach and lets out a long deep groan. Marie tries to comfort him as boys and girls walk by and stare. Marie wipes some of the sweat off his brow as he groans again. This time, Josh’s neck stretches a bit and dark hair starts to grow down his neck. Josh’s tail swings feverishly back and forth as it grows thick fur.
“Maybe you just need some water,” Marie says, trying to smile, “I’ll get-“ Marie looks up and a man dressed in a red trench coat is standing over her with a glass of water. “Here you are young lady, give this to him. “Thanks,” Marie smiles and hands Josh the water. Josh drinks and starts breathing normally. “Don’t worry, it’s not serious,” says the Man in Red. “What’s wrong with him?” Marie asks helping Josh to his feet. “I’m afraid he’s just over done himself. It happens, he just needs to relax, and I know just the place. It’s an exclusive ride you can only get to with a special ticket.”
Josh shakes his head, “no more rides.” The man flips his hand and a Blue Ticket slides out of his sleeve. “This is not so much a ride as a means to unwind.” Marie clears her throat, “can I go too?” The Man smiles and pinches the ticket slightly causing another ticket hidden behind it to be revealed.
