"So you turned into a bird?"
"I guess so, I mean I really couldn't see myself and everything was happening so fast--I guess I was a bird."
"Wow, and I missed that." Brandon went over to look at the dead moth. "You really wrecked it." He squatted to get a closer look.
Rob went over to join him. She ran her fingers over the moth's wings, and they came away with a fine dust.
"What's it like? I mean, being able to turn stuff into stuff?"
"Scary. Like I can't control it. I didn't want to turn into a girl. I mean, now that it's happened its alright, I guess, but it wasn't like I wanted it? And when I turned into the bird, that wasn't my idea either--I was just thinking about catching the moth. Whatever it is inside me that does this, it turned me into a bird. And what if I hadn't been able to turn back?"
"Yeah, that is scary." Brandon stood up. "If you turn back into a bird, will you give me a ride? 'Cause that would be cool."
