Jared struggled against her bonds, but her hooves were all tied together, and there was a searing pain in her left foreleg that had to mean a bad break.
She didn't stop, even as the truck pulled up a long gravel driveway. When the driver got out and looked in, he looked a little perturbed. "Crap, I though you were already dead."
Jared tried to scream that he was human, but it was to no avail. All that came out were strangled moans.
The man dragged her roughly from the truck and hung her up on a truss. Then he came toward her with a knife. "Sorry, my dear little doe, but your legs shattered anyway. If I didn't do this, you'd be coyote food by morning."
Jared tried to pull away from the knife, but it slipped effortlessly and almost painlessly though her neck. As the blood rushed to her head and out, she felt the warm fluid roll down her head, then everything went black.
