Of course Jasmine had no way of knowing about the park's 'alternative offer' which was
still under going approval by those in control about those being allowed to permanently
live in the park, at grossly reduced benefits: no free food hand outs, no emergency
medical coverage, and basically sentencing yourself to a lifetime behind the fences.
Naturally it was questionable if anyone would take up on such a unsweetened offer.
Jasmine had lapsed on remembering another fine print clause that came with accepting
the park's offer. All genetic modifications came with the anthro form or none at all. Laurie
on the other hand hadn't. She allowed her new daughter to enjoy a little closeness with the
fox, seeing no harm in it unless they started mounting each other.
Laurie knew that once this trip was over, she'd be a different species from her new child
and possibly even her child's other half. She wondered what Mike's fiances were like. Did
he live alone? With family? Or was he in a retirement home? At least with an undamaged
body he'd be able to make a living for himself.
Laurie fully remembered her promise to Hannah to be the human she needed to be friends
with in the outside world. She also knew those in control seemed strict about it being a
package deal. Laurie didn't know it, but this, while not planned out in the least, worked
into the intentions of those in control. After all, a loving mother and her anthro child and
child's boyfriend? Those in control would actually be willing to give Laurie and Jasmine a
'grace period' even if their vacation time ran out sooner, to solidify their relationship. After
all, while the media loved tragedies, they loved victims even more, and a loving family
facing off against a bias world? They would go from deviants to victims overnight.
If Laurie had know any of this, she might have felt used and insulted, but ultimately, it
couldn't have effected her decisions. She was more interested in Jasmine and Mike than
any great plan to ready society for dramatically genetically altered humans.
Laurie pictured himself the lone human at a cafe' table with Hannah and Jasmine wearing
summer dresses and Mike in shirt and jeans, everyone talking much about nothing. She
then realized she had no clue what Mike or Hannah even LOOKED like as humans. They
could have been Caucasians, Russians, Africans, Chinese, Japanese, and Laurie would
likely never even know the difference. She couldn't help it, she laughed, and kept laughing,
her daughter and Mike just looked oddly at her for a few seconds before Laurie calmed
herself down. "Oh, sorry, nothing." Laurie excused herself, then used a good distraction,
"Hey, I think they're starting the next fight."
