John was so busy looking for Vandal that he didn't see the metal leg of a display rack sticking fruther out than the others, and went sprawling. Luckily, he landed in a pile of loose bathing suits. At least no one seemed to have seen his clummsiness.
He picked up one of the suits from the pile. It was a nice color and design, but the waistband said it was for 'Boys ages 13-15'. That was weird. He'd never seen sizes by age before. There didn't seem to be any others like it. John held up the swimtrunks. They didn't look too small. And he'd been wearing the ones he had since he was 15.
There was a dressing room close by, so he scrambled up and went inside. It wouldn't hurt to try them on.
He stripped off all his clothes and pulled on the trunks. It was pretty obvious that they were too small. Maybe even a little smaller than the old suit. Disappointed, he started to take them off, but stopped and grabbed for the wall as a wave of dizzyness hit him. The sensation passed almost immediately - he must have stood up too quick or something.
John started to undo the waistband, then realized that the shorts didn't really feel tight at all. Looking down, he shifted a little and was surprised to see that they fit perfectly. Must have bunched up when he put them on. The idea of still wearing a 15 year-old's size at 18 irked him a little, but as long as they fit and he liked the color, he didn't have to tell anyone else about the size thing.
"Hey, John! Were are you?" Vandal was just outside, looking for him.
Might as well show him the suit. John stepped out from the dressing room. "Over here. What do you think of these?"
Vandal looked over and started to say something but blinked and stared at him with his mouth open.
John frowned. "What, are they that bad? I thought they looked good."
Vandal looked at John oddly, then came closer. "Uh, John?"
"Yeah, last time I checked. What's the matter?"
His friend pointed to a full length mirror. "Maybe you'd better look for yourself."
Puzzled, John turned to check out his reflection and gasped. The person reflected back:
