As quickly as he could, he threw himself back onto the toilet and sat quietly for a minute, rocking back and forth. Suddenly, the pain sharpened and became so strong, he screamed.
"Are you alright?" called the woman again.
A tear glided down his cheek, but before he could answer, he felt a small spot of wetness began to grow along the bottom of his underwear. At first, fear crossed through his mind, before his hands started to act on their own. Instantly, panties were around his ankles and the skirt on his school uniform was hiked up slightly higher than the school allows. Nervously, Ryan looked down and saw the last thing he'd ever hoped it be. A tiny patch of fresh blood lined the crevice of his underwear.
"You're going to be late for school, Kaitlin. It's time to come out of there!" called the woman a third time.
"I'm-I'm not going," he responded with half the assurance he would've done so had he transformed into a boy.
"Kaitlyn, your father's paying me to take you to school and that's where I'm taking you. Now open up this door!" Ryan nervously reached over and unlocked the door, but didn't move off the toilet, his panties still around his ankles. "What's taking you so long?" asked Mr. Seer's secretary; however, as more tears glided down Ryan's cheeks and the secretary looked down, her mother formed into a perfect 'O' shape as she realized what just happened.
Thinking quickly, Mrs. Donavon didn't think it was her place to argue with her boss, but seeing what happened, she couldn't blame Kaitlyn for not wanting to go anywhere.
"Wait here, I'll be back in thirty-minutes after I drop your sister off at school," said Mrs. Donavon thinking she too needed that long to think of what to do or say since she'd been Elisabeth's and Kaitlyn's woman influence this past year. 'At a time like this, why couldn't Mrs. Seer have still been alive,' she thought closing and locking the door again.
Mrs. Seer had passed away four-months ago due at the hospital after being shot by some criminal who became nervous during a botched bank robber where she worked.
