Opening the lid he discovered... some slippers...? He pulled out the strange footware,
looking it over. The slippers were made out of some sort of shiny black material, but that
wasn't the strangest part. They were styled to look identical to a pair of canine paws.
Judging from the size Luke would have guessed they belonged to a black furred wolf.
Only, of course, being made out of fur would be far too close to normal for Uncle John's
sake. These, as unusual as it seemed, were made out of latex. Go figure that Uncle would
give him something so unusual. Ah well, Luke was far from one to look a gift horse in the
mouth. Walking over to his bed he sat down, towel still around his waist, and began to try
the slippers on.
They fit unusually tight. In fact, Luke would of guessed that there were too small. It was a
shame really. For all their unusualness the paws were highly accurate. On the bottom of
them they sported canine pawpads, and on the end of each toe he found a dull plastic
claw.
As Luke attempted to stand up, he discovered a side effect of the latex being so tight. For
fear of stretching them out too much and breaking them, Luke was forced to stand on his
toes. This gave his legs an almost canine appearance. "Haha, nice trick..." He muttered,
tip toeing back over to the box.
Luke was surprised when he looked back inside. The slippers weren't the only paws in the
box. In fact, he couldn't believe he hadn't spotted them before. The slippers were just the
hindpaws of a wolf after all, he still had the forepaws to deal with. As Luke pulled the
forepaws out, the unusual footware started to make sense. He was currently holding a
pair of latex gloves. These gloves, much like the slippers, were designed to mimic that of
a wolf.
And then everything clicked. This was a cheesy Halloween costume. Go figure his uncle
would give him a gift which he couldn't use for another 10 months. Ah well, he might as
well try the gloves on. They were built in a similar fashion to the feet, with pawpads on
his palms and claws at the end of his fingers. They were a little bit, so he had to pull them
pretty far up on his arm. Adjusting his towel, he trotted over to the full length mirror
hung on the back of his door to see how he looks.
