Lars was just starting highschool and still trying to find his place in the world. He thought his best buddy Jake (who'd been looking unusually energetic lately) would be there to figure it out with him, so imagine his surprise when Jake says to him one day, hesitantly,
"Dude... I think I'm going to try out for football."
Lars sputtered. "Football?! You? Dude, guys like us don't do football, we do magic and DnD."
Jake smiled. "Come on dude, you know I've always liked sports. And I've had all this energy and aggression lately. I just can't get my mind off of football."
Lars shook his head. Jake hated sports, always had... wait, no he didn't. He had played kid baseball and soccer since forever and even now he liked to work out in the weight rooms several times a week. He hadn't hit puberty yet so all he had was definition but it looked good on someone his age.
Jake looked honestly perturbed though. "Do you think I'll be any good at it?"
"Well, man... I guess you should if you want to. You gotta try. Don't forget about me though."
"I won't man! You know I'll never forget about you. Thanks for the encouragement."
So Jake went out for football and he actually did well at the tryouts, Lars went and watched. He got on the freshman team and started spending all his time hanging out with the football freshmen and in the weight room. Lars only ever saw him on weekends when they got together and did homework.
Over the next month Jake underwent some astounding changes. Puberty hit and was really good to him. He shot up to six foot, becoming one of the tallest freshmen in the school, and the awkwardness of his adolescence seemed to melt away. He soon took on the bearing and appearance of a handsome blonde young man with sharp, deep blue eyes. His already toned body grew like gangbusters. His defined muscles grew until he became one of the most muscular 15 year olds in the country. He was courted by patrons for bodybuilding, which he started doing in his spare time when he wasn't busy with football (at which he excelled).
Jake used his newfound popularity too. He went through all the prettiest freshman and sophomore girls one by one, and they were literally fighting each other to get at his (according to rumor impressive) dick. Jake loved getting off with these whores several times a day. Jake developed into a real jerk and everyone loved him anyway.
Lars and Jake drifted apart. Jake was suddenly the most popular kid in school with his amazing looks and body. His friends couldn't understand why he would hang out with that creepy Lars. Lars (who seemed ot have forgotten about the program) was bewildered by the changes in his friend by the end of the month. He stopped talking to Jake, who began to pick on Lars whenever he saw him in the hallway. The rest of the school year was a nightmare for Lars as Jake became the king of the school and he remained nothing. At the end of the year Jake made it into junior-senior football (even though he was only a sophomore!) and Lars, Lars was nothing.
