The door swung open, and Luke's father stalked in. Luke pulled the covers up over his head.
"You know, Luke, I told John how you were bailing out on our South American fishing trip. He said his boy Erik was giving him the same problem, but he had an interesting solution. You know our gran was a witch, don't ya? Never believed me though, did you. Maybe you believe now!" he shouted as he pulled the covers off Luke.
Luke sat up and covered his rubbery body in embarrassment. What his father was saying made no sense, but then his latex covered body made no sense either.
"You and Uncle John turned me into a werewolf, so I'd go fishing with you?" Luke asked in a confused voice.
Luke's father threw back his head and laughed.
"Werewolf? What good would a werewolf be on a fishing trip? Duck hunting, hm, maybe we'll try that in the fall? Whoever heard of a rubber werewolf? No, boy you're a werewaders."
"Werewaders?" Luke gasped looking at his rubberized forepaws. His body was now completely shiny black rubber, but instead of the highly defined musculature that had first appeared, the rubber now had a more fluid liquid appearance. Luke found himself collapsing into a shiny black puddle. The puddle solidified.
Luke's voice came thinly out of his widely gaping mouth, "Uh, wha happen?"
His father smiled and reached down at the black heap of rubber, and picked up the two straps and held his former son, and new waders in his hands.
"Luke, let me show you how you look. Open wide and say, "Ah",Luke," his father laughed and stepped into his new waders. The sound of the air rushing out of the rubber waders as the legs and torso filled them sound like a gasp, perhaps Luke had gasped at the same time. His father snapped the straps on his shoulders, and he laughed, "A perfect fit-you know Luke, this is the perfect gift. We can spend time bonding, and I know I'll have your undivided attention when I speak. You won't be talking back or listening to mp3's for the next few weeks, and I won't have to pay for your airline ticket or hotel room either. Let me get my fishing gear and then I'll find a mirror and show you how you look."
