Amy inserted the quarter and heard it fall through the machine in a series of clinks. When it settled on a pile of other quarters, she tried to think of an animal. Ever since she had entered the store, she had wondered if they selled snakes. It came as no surprise to her that the first animal on her mind at the moment seemed to be... "Snake," she said out loud. She grasped the lever and pulled it down.
With a loud noise of metal clapping on metal, Amy felt a pinch in her lower back. The sharp pain caused her to jump in the chair, but something was holding her down from behind. A metal clamp had grabbed hold of her entire legs and waist. She screamed as she tried to sit up and get away but could not.But then the the clamp releast and she got up and She looked back and screamed once more.
A long, coulrfull, scalie rope extended from the base of her spine and sat on the chair. Amy turned her head forward once more and tried to run flat out., and she barely gained any ground. Her sneakers squeaked loudly as they slid across the polished wood floor. For all her efforts, she was only moving inches away from the chair at a time. All the while, the pulling in her backside worsened.
she looked back at the chair.she noticed that the strange rope was gone except the rope was now gone.
she looked around on the hard floor, moving a hand to rub the lingering twinge in her back. Her hand fell over something large and scally. She peered over her shoulder and saw the large rope behind her. She gasped and scuttled across the floor to get away from whatever it was, but it seemed to follow. She grabbed it in both hands and realized then what it truly was...a snake's tail!
Amy was stunned. The machine had actually pulled snake's tail right out of her backside! She watched it twitch slightly as she ran her hand along it, asking herself over and over if what she was seeing was truly real.
