"I'm sorry!" you yell as the beast readies a charge. He stops, with a confused expression on his face.
"You... apologize? Well, I guess no harm was really done, that pit was flooded. I guess I should apologize for acting like I was going to kill you."
"You were acting?" you reply.
"Well, yes. I'm not a mindless beast. I'm just trying to fulfill my role of guardian of this labyrinth."
"Can I ask you a few questions?" you hope to better understand your new situation.
"Fine, but make it quick."
You: "Why did you turn me into a minotaur?"
Minotaur: "Well I didn't, the labyrinth did. I didn't know that fall wasn't going to be lethal, so I thought I had to pass on my duty to you."
You: "What duty would that be?"
Minotaur: "To protect the labyrinth that holds the Portal to the Many Worlds. My order maintains the hidden doors between realms and prevents them from those who would abuse their power."
You: "This maze leads to other worlds?"
Minotaur: "Yes, but you should leave now."
You: "Leave, I'm a minotaur now. Don't I belong in a maze?"
Minotaur: "I'm sorry to have put you in this position, but there can be only one guardian of the portal. I accidentally told the maze's magic to turn you into the new guardian since I thought I would die in that pit. If one of us doesn't leave soon, the maze will choose a new guardian and shunt the other outside."
You: "I can't go outside. What will happen to me out there. I'm a monster!"
Minotaur: "Like I said, I'm really sorry. Look at it this way, that's your world out there. Sure, your body is changed but your soul is the same. Your the same human that stumbled into the maze, just in a more formidable package. If I left, I'd surely be killed. I don't know how your world works. And you do not want the responsibility of guarding this portal. The pay sucks, as your kind would say."
You: "Fine, I guess I'll figure something out. There's always show business."
You say the last line half-heartedly. "Go to the mirror," the minotaur commands. "I can use it as a door to the outside. You'll appear somewhat close to where you entered the maze."
The mirror's surface swirls with eldritch light. With no other choice, you enter the portal.
"I'll try to find a way to undo the transformation, but it might take some time," is the last thing you hear as the maze fades away into a nauseating green fog.
When you can see again, you find yourself...
