As the thrill of the transformation died down, Mary's human mind began to resurface. She looked around at the destruction she had caused with as much of a sad expression as she could show with her new draconic face.
She glanced at her feet, realizing there was no hope of finding the vials now. The remains of her house were too small for her to try and fish through, and it's likely her immense body had crushed and spilled them, along with everything in the street she used to live in.
She took a step forward, and she felt the tremor her incredible weight produced. The metal framework of any surviving building nearby fell into the piles of bricks and cement that surrounded them. All around she saw tiny red stains, and the pink and brown smears of the humans she had wiped out with a single step.
She found herself in a great dilemma. She did not want to continue hurting people, but she couldn’t move without causing mass destruction. The other problem was that a creature of this size would require gigantic amounts of food to survive, and the easiest thing for her to eat would be humans due to their major weaknesses and large numbers. She needed to at least be made smaller, or if possible changed back to her human self.
That was when she saw it; one tiny little glint of hope. Scattered around her feet lay surviving vials, ones that had escaped the rubble when she had taken a step forward. Mary bent down as much as she could and picked up one of the vials. She could no longer make out any of the writing on them, so had to take a random one. She couldn’t even remove the stopper with her large claws and had to swallow the vial whole.
After a few minutes, the energy of the vial spread through her body like a bolt of lightning, causing her to topple forwards. The remains of the vials have now been crushed. She felt the incredible feeling return as the transformation began. She just hoped she had found a helpful vial...
