"Isn't it possible," Becky says, "to just go home? You know, you can give us our money back and we can just leave."
The man frowns, his grandpa wrinkles sagging with displeasure. "No, no it is not. By purchasing those tickets you guaranteed at least a one night stay on the island- you are bound automatically by contract upon buying your stay here. Tax purposes and whatnot. AND by getting your tickets illegally, you are breaking contract- in which case, your two options are either going to jail or taking my generous offer of letting you work off the money that went to the scalper and not to me. I cannot just give you your money back because I do not have your money. You follow?"
You look at him for a second and say, " I do NOT follow. That has nothing to do with taxes. Contract? We didn't sign anything! AND the scalper bought the tickets off you, so technically, our money-"
He coughs, suggesting that you either make a choice or he'll make it for you.
