Kyle's miserable moaning falls on deaf ears as Jennifer has already dived back under the water. The sea is a different place at night. It's dark, yet still illuminated. Moonlight provides a soft glow from above, but much of the light in the ocean at night comes from bioluminescence. Whether it be fish with glowing organs or plankton that shine like a faded star, there is still much to see in the ocean at night. Jennifer finds herself transfixed once more, just watching life around her in amazement.
It doesn't take too long, however, for her to grow tired, to need rest. She'd have to find shelter of some sort and sleep. Sure, most fish didn't wholly sleep like people did, but she was still half person, and she felt the need to sleep.
It didn't take her all too long to find a small rock crevice to crawl into. It wasn't terribly comfortable, but it would suit her purposes well. As she slipped in, a neighboring moray eel darted out to investigate.
'What are you lookin' at, buster?' Jennifer thought, eyeing him lazily, and determining that he wasn't a threat, just curious. He seemed to have made the same determination about her as he slowly retreated back into his hole.
Before too long, Jennifer drifted off to sleep, completely unaware of what else was watching her......
