Epilogue--Meghan and Gunther
Dr. Meghan and Dr. Gunther continued to be employed by TF Park USA. And both continued to conflict with each other. Meghan gained what she considered a victory for caution and common sense when after much debate, petitioning, and stubbornness on her part, it was finally became an actual part of Park policy for anyone seeking to keep their new form outside the park was looked over psychologically and their behavior during their stay evaluated. This was done to make sense that their could function in society without ripping the throat out of anyone who cut them off in traffic. While most considered Mr. Meghan to just be paranoid, she used the disaster with Maggie as solid proof that sometimes these new bodies couldn't be trusted. That was how, she, of all possible people, found herself siding with her kind's mortal enemy, religion, on the message that the evolved animal needed to practice self control in normal culture.
Neither she, nor her rival Gunther ever attempted to become Anthros themselves and get a better understanding of the problem from the inside out. Meghan fearing her perception would be screwed over by instinct. And Gunther simply didn't think he'd learn anything useful anyway.
Gunther, for the sake of order of the park, continued to tweak the Gene Splicer in the name of finding the 'proper balance' that Mehgan 'wanted' to find so badly. Thankfully he knew he was not expendable, and keep these actions within request and documented least he bring down the wrath of the Management on his head.
While the two scientists had -not- created the process, nor had they perfected it, they were still the faces of the project, and were eventually recognized for their own work as well. Now Gunther's ego shot higher. While Mehgan managed to accept her praise with more maturity.
In the end, the two scientists were divided into separate aspects of the park. Gunther would handle the genetics of the park guests and staff, and of course making sure the natural born anthros who were growing in startling numbers didn't get cancer when they turned ten or some other genetic flaw in their DNA since they were not created from a template. Gunther never admitted it, and never would, but these natural born anthros seemed more stable in their genetic structure than their parents! Maybe there was a good reason that two genders existed in 99% of higher lifeforms after all.
Mehgan was given the psychological aspect of the park's scientific side. Check behavior and the psychology of the guests. She had even once had an in-depth discussion with Prof. Su Yin about her own experiences as an anthro and the differences in logic between her two brain structures. She never did truly trust the instincts that came with these created form, but begrudgingly admitted to their need to keep guests sane.
She did discover something interesting though. While these natural born anthros didn't consider themselves humans even in the slightest (no real surprise there), and they showed every sign of having their parents instincts and acting on those instincts, there didn't seem to be the same struggle she saw with the transformed guests. The ones who were raised in a typical western style environment assimilated the concepts and (most) idea of western culture into their behavior the same as any child. It would be interesting to later compare a natural born anthro, with a TF guest who were of the same age see the true differences in their behavior. It would be very interesting in Mr. Mehgan's opinion, to see which one acted more civilized.
Anthro Park Epilogue--Alexis
Alexis ultimately found her trip to the park... informative. She nor her group never did succeed in getting the park shut down, nor stopping the opening of the various other parks. And considering how most of the other groups that opposed the TF Parks were their mortal enemies (people who didn't consider animals to be -more- than animals), their coordination of efforts was pathetic at best.
What had totally and utterly thrown the group into absolute chaos was when some of their members became certain food animals in protest of the raising of meat animals, and some anthros out of the blue even joined their interest groups! This caused a total mix up in precisely who the was the enemy, and in the end, the entire problem with the parks was put on the back burner.
Alexis... after she had finished gathering information in the park, she had become human again for a year staying with her group. Then she became a sow again for six months, then a cow, a chicken, and other animals raised for the sole purpose of food for six months at a time. Her curiosity getting the better of her. Naturally this led to her group's core members thinking they had brainwashed her within the park's walls.
One of the things that had driven the Animal Rights Group into a blood thirsty mad frenzy was when certain predators began to special request ape flesh, saying it was prejudice that the flesh of other unevolved animals was allowed but primate flesh was taboo. Needless to say, many predators ended up visiting Africa to sample the local quazen. Heh. What a show they created there. Though there was a slight mishap at customs, making sure they didn't have any disease carrying fleas.
In the end, Alexis found herself riding the fence, still thinking of meat eating as unneeded in current human culture.... but thinking maybe, these anthros weren't so bad after all. Now if she could only get the mountain lions to eat tofu....
