The yellow eyes glowed in the moonlight. Johnny tripped and fell backwards, as the leaping reptile opened its jaws to reveal rows of sharp white teeth. The giant lizard sank its teeth into Johnny's leg injecting its strange magical venom. Then just as suddenly as it had leapt, the dog-sized lizard released Johnny's leg, and headed back into jungle from which it had come swishing its tail after it.
Johnny stared at the retreating lizard, his body felt cold and clammy as his clothing was quickly drenched in his own sweat. He leaned back against the fallen tree, and rolled his eyes before he paased out.
When he came to the moon was waning in the night sky, and Johnny's clothing was tightly constricting his body. His first thought was that all his sweat had shrunk his clothing, and then he figured that the venom must have made his body swell up. He struggled to stand, and was horrified to hear his seams splitting as he stood. He pulled his shredded shirt from his chest. His fingers felt odd as did his skin. He looked down and was startled at both what he saw, and that he was able to see so well in the dark. His chest and arms were heavily muscled and covered with rough dark scales. His tongue flitted out of his mouth in surprise, and he was gasped at how long his tongue had become. Only when he stuck his tongue back out to see how long it had become did he notice that it was now forked.
What had happened to him? He staggered uneasily forward. His shoes and socks were gone, presumably shredded like his shirt. He could feel the gravel beneath his toes like sand. He looked down at his formerly loose jeans that now appeared to be tight shorts now. He took a step forward, and the jeans gave him and awful wedgie. There was a ripping noise, and the wedgie went away as a tail ripped out of the seat of his jeans.
"What the-" roared Johnny suddenly silenced by the scarily loud noise emitting from his mouth. He whispered softly sounding like a leaking steam pipe, "What's happening to me?" He pursed his lips and let out a long whistle. It sounded like a fog horn, but more startling was the stream of flaming plasma that spewed forth from his lips illuminating the dark garden.
The roaring fire that was consuming the foliage in front of Johnny felt great. It also afforded better lighting with which Johnny could inspect his changing body. He leaned closer to the flames warming his cold and stiff body. He was still a bit weak as he extended his clawed scaly hands toward the flames. He took a step forward catching his new taloned toes in one of the fallen tree's branches and tumbling into fire. Amazingly, the fire didn't burn his skin. It actually felt invigorating against his skin. It was only as Johnny rolled over enjoying his infernal jacuzzi bath that he was now completely naked. His jeans had burnt off him in the fire. He roared with laughter as he realized he was now a dragon. Fire spewed forth from his lips and enveloped the dense foliage surrounding him. He loved the fire.
That's how he'd get his buddies out of the manor, he'd burn their way out. As he belched forth fire, Johnny suddenly felt very very hungry. He also realized that he'd been growing. When he'd initially entered the central area he had been looking up at the fountain pedestal. Now even though he was lying on his back, his long neck was looking down at fountain pedestal. He wondered how big he really was. He stretched his body, and leapt forward and into the air. He now had wings. He was a flying dragon.
