Evansville, just a few moments later
The six werewolves howled in unison as their transformations came to a shuddering climax. Recovering quickly, there was work to be done, Lisa addressed her sisters.
All right girls. We shall split up tonight. Debra, I want you, Sharon, and Ebony to go east, searching for Wendy. If you can find her before she realizes that she isn’t changing back, so much the better. If not…well, at least Sharon will be in the same situation, most likely.
Debra was curious.
Wait a second my love, what are you…
Lisa froze her impudence with a steely glare, Debra amended her query.
What about poor Marco?
Marco, I think, would be a bit suspicious if we tried to make excuses for his sister. Wendy is no fool, she is quite capable of adequately covering her tracks, but if she cannot…
The implication was obvious to Debra and understood.
Go now, Debra. Solange…Brenda, we have some business of our own to attend to.
The six beasts broke into two separate groups, one towards the east, the other to the south.
With the moon in the sky and darkness falling, Sean Cramer was enjoying his Saturday night with his ten year old daughter Tina. His son Terry would be gone until November, and though he initially disapproved of his son traipsing off to Europe for some band, he had to admit that it was pleasant to have a whole month without the need for earplugs. Sean sniffed the smoldering mesquite briquettes and lifted the lid of the piping hot grill.
“Pumpkin, go on inside and get the steaks and sauce, would ya honey?” Tina skipped away to get the food.
The Cramer house was in the Evansville suburbs, the last place one would expect a seven foot wolf to be prowling, let alone three, and two of them were wondering what the hell their leader was leading them into.
My Alpha, you ARE aware that we are in a heavily populated, fairly well-lit, heavily policed section of the town?
Certainly Solange, which is why we must be careful. We are going, in fact, to be paying a visit to a mutual acquaintance, who did some work for you installing those chandeliers back in August.
Solange’s razor sharp mind immediately picked up on what was going on.
My Alpha, I have two questions: One. Are you certain that this is the only way; surely Terry could not have told them already? Two. What are your long term intentions with this course of action?
Lisa replied compassionately.
I am certain, Solange…and I will have to explain my long term intentions after the fact.
“Here you go, Dad.” Sean stroked Tina’s golden hair in appreciation, and put the two T-bones in the flames. Sean listened to the bubbling sizzle as the fire began its work on the fresh meat. Something rustled in the hedge on the other side of the fence. He frowned, some raccoon possibly, he wondered.
“Keep an eye on the steaks, Tina, I’ll be right back.”
As Sean opened the gate to his neighbor’s backyard, he felt himself thrown back by the heavy mass of reddish fur, fangs, and muscle. Ivory fangs sank into his neck and shoulder, rendering him unconscious before he could even open his mouth to scream.
Tina heard the impact and saw her father tumble back under the weight of the monster. The creature’s head moved quickly down and she saw blood spurting from her father’s shoulder.
“DA-“
It was all she could get out before she felt the massive weight fall on her.
Brenda gently sank her fangs into the child’s forearm.
