"You're not a freak," said Daniel to Jennifer as he moved his hand behind her head, holding
her to his chest as her tears began to stain the front of his shirt. "I don't know what Kyle's
said or done to you to make you think this way, but it's over now. I'll be here for you, you
don't have to worry about him anymore."
Daniel's kind words caused Jennifer to stop sobbing, and she looked up at him, the
corners of her golden furred muzzle lifting in a grateful smile. But something was very
wrong with Daniel. She could see that the top of his ears were sticking through his shock
of brown hair on his head, and appeared strangely -in fact unnaturally- pointed.
"Oh Daniel look!" Jennifer gasped, breaking away from him and turning toward the large
plate glass window of the arcade. There, in the mirror-like reflection in the glass, Daniel
could see the strange transformation that had taken hold of his ears. "Oh my gosh, OH
MY GOSH!" Daniel yelled, tugging so hard on his ear that he let loose a painful (and
surprisingly canine) yelp that startled the small crowd still lingering at the accident scene.
"Jen, you're right! Kyle did turn you into a dog girl, and now the same thing's happening
to me!"
