"Hey, I bringing in some dogs for my bud Chris Sanderson, he said he had an appointment," Simon said to the receptionist as the two dogs tugged at their leashes.
"Dogs? He made the appointment for just Sparky. Do they both need to be dewormed?" she asked.
"Dunno, Sparky needs deworming, not sure about," he paused he couldn't say that Chris' dog was named Chris, "Kato is a new dog. I'd guess he needs a good once over by the vet."
Chris/Kato whimpered as he looked up at Simon. Simon knelt and rubbed his brother's canine head.
"Oh, it won't be so bad, boy. In fact, I'll take you for doggy treats afters."
"Right, well have a seat we'll call you. Oh, and fill out these forms as best you can. Mr. Sanderson can fill in the stuff you don't know on his next visit."
"Right, ma'am."
About 10 minutes later, Simon was back with the vet. Fifteen minutes later, Sparky was whining in kennel cage after his deworming. It was now Chris's turn to be examined.
"Healthy teeth, clear eyes, cold nose, shiny coat, hm," said the vet, "Basically appears healthy. He'll need his shots and license. Do you want the boy fixed?"
"Fixed?" Simon asked in surprise.
"Yes, we recommend that people spay and neuter their pets. Otherwise, Kato here will be pissing to mark his territory in the house or other inappropriate places. The snipping also reduces aggressive behavior, and unwanted humping. If you know what I mean," the vet said with a nod, "Besides the license is discounted $250.00 if the animal is fixed."
"$250? How much is the license?" and added before the vet answered, "How will it make him look?"
Chris was staring at Simon.
"Oh, we have plastic or metal prosthetics if you want his scrotum to be full," the doctor answered holding up what looked like ping pong balls.
Chris moved his forepaws in front of his genitalia and whimpered softly.
"Well, it's Chris Sanderson's dog, so I'd better check with him."
"Fine, but we have to hold the dog here until he decides. It's the law."
