Aging Cassandra(s) a bit--and Zulo's canon mental changes

added 15 years ago AP TG O

Shortly after we got settled in, I looked up the Medallion of Zulo on the Internet. It was amazing what you could find information about nowadays. We tracked down several sources of information and me and "Brenda" were convinced that what we had found was correct.

The medallion only does slight mental changes. Very minor ones can and are sometimes done by the medallion. Stronger mental changes can be made but there has to be a prompt from an outside force. As in the wearer donning a wedding band, then they might automatically believe they are married, how to please their hubby/wife.

When Lord McTaber's daughter Katerine and granddaughter Cassandra had died, he had saved everything they had owned. It had gone into storage, and stayed that way all the way through the decades. Perhaps they might have gone to another relative of Lord McTaber's, but nobody claimed them, and they made it all the way to our house.

We'd each given birth to a baby--a new Cassandra. The information about how the Medallion of Zulo can create mental changes gave me an idea, and Brenda agreed.

We set up an empty room in our house to look just like Cassandra's room used to look. Then we took out everything from that old box that we could--decorations, pictures, a mobile and some plastic toys, clothes... and found replacements for other things, like a new playpen the size and color of the old one. We even painted the walls the correct color. I touched the medallion to Cassandra's clothes and put it around Cassie's neck, knotting the chain so that no child would be able to remove it.

In a moment she started to change. Instead of a newborn Cassandra, she was a three year old Cassandra. My daughter just crawled around, because the medallion's affect on the mind was slow. She still had the mind of an infant. But I had learned that the medallion does stronger mental changes than normal if there's an outside prompt from the environment. Well, the room looked identical to Cassandra's room down to the rug, the walls, the toys in the playpen, and the mother--me--who was never very far away from her.

Four hours later she said "Mommy, I want off! This is heavy!" It was done; she had the mind of the three year old Cassandra. I picked her up out of the playpen and unknotted the medallion's chain, dropping it on the floor.

I called out "Brenda, it's ready!" Brenda took her infant into the room and after another four hours, came out with another three year old Cassandra and the medallion.

After a brief hair-trimming--just to be sure we could tell them apart--we put both of them in the playpen and told them they were cousins now. Cassie and Sandra. Three year olds don't have the understanding of strangeness that adults do, so they soon accepted it. Not only were we both Lord McTaber's daughter, we both had a child who was his granddaughter.
