Tapping the eraser against the paper, Sly came up with what he thought was an obvious answer. Hopping that the paper would except it, he wrote down, 'I used to be one of Inari's messengers; a Kitsune. I was banished for something I did, but still retain some of my powers, including the power to go were I feel like'.
Watching the paper as the words vanished, hoping that the answer was acceptable, Sly became really worried when the paper stayed blank. It would remain in this state for the next seven minutes before writing began to appear.
'Good answer. You'll be happy and one day rejoin the Japanese God Inari. For now, hide this note where no one will find it for awhile'.
Sly wondered about what had just appeared, wondered about one day rejoining the God of Harvest, pondered over the new memories that flood into his mind, shrugged and pondered about where he should hide the note. Obvious he could go where no human could normally go, but how could he use that to hide the note?
In the end, he chose to hide the note in a crawlspace under the house he currently occupied. Placing the note in a lock box, he buried it and the key, which was tied to the handle of the box, under the house and placed a large rock over the spot. Satisfied at his work, thinking it would remain there for awhile and not be disturbed, he dusted himself off and went to see what mom had for dinner; he was hoping for some type of chicken dish.
