Over the next few days, a sort of order befell the city.
The lions took control, along with some of the other predators. Other animals either obeyed of fled from them.
The city became a literal urban jungle. Money became useless, as did most electronics. Only battery powered items worked and they were difficult to operate. TVs and Radios had stopped receiving broadcasts anyway. They didn't know if it was just the city or the whole world.
Greg and Charlie remained in the apartment. The door was locked which kept them safe. But it wouldn't be long before something found their way in. And even if nothing did, they were slowly running out of food.
Charlie was beginning to grow nervous. He didn't know much about bears. Did they eat goats?
There were rumors of a resistance. Some people who had not been infected, or were somehow immune, were apparently doing something to find a cure. Greg didn't believe they would.
